SimGrid Seasons: The Series Available To Race In

SimGrid Seasons launches for ACC on Console to provide more depth and inclusion for competitive racing. Which we identified as something that was missing in the sim racing space and something console racers were craving.

Our aim is to bring daily racing to the forefront for consoles operating alongside all the league racing you do. Where we provide round the clock racing with a dedicated rating system, which will be a first for console and Assetto Corsa Competizione.

For Season 1 there will be four main series available for drivers to race in which will include; Quick Race, Proving Grounds, Half Hour Dash and Mini Enduro. To begin with each series in the season will last 6 weeks and this help guide explains what each series entails.

Quick Race

Powered by G-PORTAL will be the entry point of SimGrid Seasons. Introducing Quick Race – A fun, adrenaline pumping quick race open to everyone, with quick turnarounds the aim of the game. A new race will start every 20 minutes, meaning you can get three races under your belt every hour.

These races are a step up from public lobbies as they follow our SimGrid Racing Rules where a code of conduct is expected to be followed and where respectful driving is a minimum requirement.

But they are a step below the other three series in the proper Seasons, as there is no championship attached to it. These Quick Races are just for fun, for drivers to get themselves acquainted to how the system works. Of course, you can race as many of these as you like.

All Quick Races will have automated splits, which means these races will group drivers together based on their skill level. You will get a 3-minute practice session, no qualifying, with a 12-minute race where the grid is set by a driver’s Grid Rating.

Proving Grounds

This is where things start to get a bit more serious. Proving Grounds are a step above quick races in every way. Like a quick race, you will be sorted into splits based on your Grid Rating, however, now your grid positions will be set by the time you set in the qualifying session.

The races are also slightly longer than Quick Race meaning more thought and planning needs to be done with how you are going to attack the event.

This is also the first series in SimGrid Seasons with an associated championship. You will get the same 3-minute practice session, but now you will get 6 minutes to qualify the car followed by a 20-minute race, which will be a straight shoot-out from lights to flag with no pitstop requirements.

Mini Endurance

Welcome to the cream of the crop. The flagship series of SimGrid Seasons. The Mini Endurance Series is where the enthusiasts will hang out.

The Mini Endurance will test drivers and their abilities as much as possible by having longer qualifying and race lengths, variable weather conditions and pit stops to navigate. No longer is the racing lights to flag but instead, you will be splitting your strategies with fuel and tyres to extract the maximum from each stint.

You will get 3 minutes of practice again, but now you will have 10 minutes to qualify your car for the race, before setting off on a 45-minute adventure. As the flagship series this will be a fully blown championship where you can expect prizes to be on offer again.

Becoming the champion of this series will be something to brag about!

How The Series in Seasons Work

As mentioned at the top of this guide, each series in Seasons will last 6 weeks. Each series will have a circuit that will be on the schedule for an entire week before it switches to another circuit, meaning you will visit 6 different circuits per series you participate in.

You can compete in every single race in every single series each day of each week if you decide to, but only your single best points finish will be recorded at the end of that week. Those points will then go towards the season leaderboard.

However, every race you participate in will affect your Grid Rating – providing there are 6 or more cars on the grid – so you can continue to improve this to place yourself in higher splits as the driver base expands and more drivers look to compete.

When you complete a race, you can see the results history and break down the race with analysis via your new Grid Feed in your driver profile area. This is also one of the areas we have vastly improved for a better player experience whilst on SimGrid.
