The Sim Grid World Cup gains momentum as VCO become title partner & championship calendar announced

The Sim Grid World Cup is a series truly like no other. Focusing on emulating the gruelling conditions of real-world endurance racing, it is a series which requires a huge amount of dedication and precision, finding hundredths of a second where others cannot.

After announcing a $20,000 prize pool, we can announce Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) are partnering with The Sim Grid to deliver Assetto Corsa Competizione’s’ “The Sim Grid World Cup” Championship. This partnership will see the championship officially branded as The Sim Grid x VCO World Cup.

Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) brings together different stakeholders in Esports, from simulation or gaming platforms and interested partners to active teams, drivers and the community. In a rapidly growing sector, VCO stands for professionalism, focus and a broad media presence. With its international network, VCO provides solutions for the best possible conception and implementation of Esports projects of all kinds and as a result, will be a highly valuable partner in helping to provide increased awareness, participation and prizes to The Sim Grid x VCO World Cup.

Founded by Blancpain GT Champion David Perel, The Sim Grid is a place for amateur and professional sim racers to compete against fellow drivers in leagues and endurance events for Assetto Corsa Competizione. At only 7 months old, The Sim Grid has become a staple of the ACC community, spanning over 15,000 members globally and providing innovative competition management, broadcasting and daily racing functionality to the software. Through partnering with VCO, this strategic partnership will maximise the offering to participants and viewers on never-before-seen levels of engagement. 

Speaking about the partnership, David Perel had this to say; “It’s really exciting to have an established esports brand like VCO become involved with The Sim Grid. The companies complement each other very well and collectively we are aiming to break new ground in Assetto Corsa Competizione. I’m really looking forward to this partnership and most importantly, the innovation we can bring to all our users and competitors.”

Season 2 will feature a daunting mixture of 12 and 24 Hour races across various circuits in Assetto Corsa Competizione. 2 Splits, allowing up to a maximum of 50 teams with 4 drivers in each team, will take part. Invitations will be sent to the top 15 finalists from Season 1, whilst also offering a range of Professional Esport teams and special guests additional entry to the series. This will ensure that the best of Sim Racing is given an opportunity to battle wheel to wheel. The Calendar to which can be seen below;
