Excitement is building as The 2021 Sim Grid x VCO World Cup is right around the corner. As a part of fan enthusiasm, we have 15 top-flight teams entering the competition as our invitees. We recently covered some of them in our Getting to Know the VIP Teams Part 1. It’s now time to cover the rest of them!

MRL Racing

MRL Simracing was created by four motorsport enthusiasts from the Mulchian Racing League. Founded in 2019, the team quickly gained traction in the sim racing community with their blazing performances and never-give-up attitude. The German team take part in a wide variety of racing series and keep going from strength to strength.

They are a staple team of Assetto Corsa Competizione and are one of our VIP teams for this edition of The 2021 Sim Grid x VCO World Cup. Guided by their Team Managers Sven Rosenbaum and Schwanzke | Max, they will be taking on the competition with their trusty McLaren 720s GT3.

Odox Motorsport

Odox Motorsport is as old school as sim racing can get. The OGs of the sim racing community started off by competing primarily on iRacing before venturing into various other series. Over the years, Odox Motorsport has transitioned to racing on multiple titles such as Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, DiRT and rFactor 2.

The Spanish team compete in national and international tournaments and are pumped to race in the upcoming Sim Grid x VCO World Cup. We are just as pumped to welcome them and their McLaren 720s GT3 (a popular car for sure!).

Rutronik eRacing Team

Rutronik Racing are a bit of a “jack of all trades” type. The German motorsport team have ventured into the world of Sim Racing, and quite efficiently, might we add. After going virtual in 2019, the team has competed in several competitions revolving around endurance racing as they now set their sights on the World Cup.

Led by Swiss Patrick Pignone and the German Marc Balzer as drivers and managed by Dirk Pommert, Rutronik looks to make some excellent strides in the tournament with their signature Audi R8 LMS Evo.

SG Stern

SG Stern is another German team on our list that comes from a rich history of sports. Their foray into the world of esports has been just as exciting. SG Stern has various teams for competitions outside sim racing, including FIFA, League of Legends, and DOTA 2.

Headed by Team Manager Alexander Belthle (and Fabi), SG Stern look to hit the ground running with their Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo cars. We have a feeling there are a few surprise results on the way. Only time will tell!

Team ACR

Team ACR is an established name in the global racing circuit, and the same is true for their virtual division. As evident by their drivers who have appeared in multiple events over here at The Sim Grid and other major competitions, they mean business.

Actrollvision is a well-known name amongst Sim Racers, and this team is the one to watch out for. You wouldn’t want to see their Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT3 cars in your mirror now, would you?

Triple A e-Sports

Triple A Esports are the epitome of Sim Racing excellence. The superbly-run esports team is the virtual embodiment of a 30-year history in motorsport, with mega names like Olivier Panis at the project’s helm.

They are regular contenders at The Sim Grid, having competed recently in the Sprint Cup S2 and More Female Racers by Thrustmaster, finishing second overall in the latter competition. Under Stephane Koch’s guidance, the team aims to deliver big in the upcoming World Cup, and the Bentley Continental GT3s with their iconic livery will surely turn a lot of heads.

Altus Esports

One of the older sim racing teams established back in 2018, Altus Esports, has been on a meteoric rise since then. Much like Odox Motorsport, they too started competing on iRacing before venturing into other areas like GT Sport and Assetto Corsa Competizione.

They enter Sim Grid’s world with much enthusiasm and have a point to prove with the World Cup as their battleground. They will be taking to the track with their Bentley Continental GT3 rides as they look to stamp their authority amongst the drivers in their split.

And that concludes our roster for the VIP teams that will be burning the tarmac in just a few weeks in The 2021 Sim Grid x VCO World Cup. Let us know who you think are the favourites in this bunch to take home the major spoils! There will be action galore along with quite a few surprises for sure.
