Today’s Community Spotlight is dedicated to TRACKILICIOUS. This American-based community is probably one of the most focused on mixing real motorsport with sim racing. TRACKILICIOUS was originally a group of enthusiasts seeking to fuel their passion for racing during Michigan’s coldest months, when real-life track days were impossible to organise due to the weather.
From real to virtual, but from virtual to real too. What are we referring to? The community has a big announcement to make about a great occasion for one skilled sim racer to bring their talents to the real track. Let’s dive in the TRACKILICIOUS world with the help of Eric, one of the admins.
From Real To Virtual – and Back Again
While most sim racing communities transition from “virtual to real”, TRACKILICIOUS follows a unique path, starting in the real world and extending into the virtual realm. As we already mentioned, the community’s roots date back to 2015, when a small group of Dodge SRT engineers came together for a private track day. Over time, this gathering grew into an annual tradition, welcoming more participants each year. By 2021, they had launched their sim racing division.
“With our track days based in Michigan, the long winters left us craving more racing action”, Eric told us. And that’s why in 2021 they found the perfect solution to cover both summers and winters with racing events by launching a sim racing division. “TRACKILICIOUS proudly hosts global sim racing events while maintaining a strong focus on North American leagues, helping to grow the sport closer to home. As part of the SimGrid family, we are excited to continue delivering high-octane experiences as your trusted Dealers of Speed”.
Active Competitions and A Big Announcement
TRACKILICIOUS is active on Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing and now even Le Mans Ultimate. One of the competitions that stand out is definitely the GT4 Rookie Series. This championship is designed as a welcoming entry point for newcomers, as they get a series exclusively for them, without having to fight aliens straight from the beginning. Strict penalties for lap-one incidents encourage a cautious approach that creates an environment where sim racers can focus on learning, growing and completing races with confidence, without the frustration of having the race ruined from the early stages.
TRACKILICIOUS offers a great variety of events. The Thursday GT3 iRacing Championship sponsored by Coach Dave Academy is the current flagship championship, but lately there have been a lot of exciting events too, such as a multiclass 6-hours endurance race and “Flooded Silverstone”. But there is more coming.
In fact, TRACKILICIOUS is thrilled to announce the Pro to Pavement GT3 Championship. This high-stakes, 8-race championship offers an incredible prize: the champion will win a FREE in-person TRACKILICIOUS track day, free rental of their track-prepped car and $500 toward travel expenses. This exciting ACC GT3 Pro championship kicks off with a qualifying server opening on January 1st, with the first race scheduled for January 12th. A once in a lifetime occasion that you’d better not miss!
The Secret To TRACKILICIOUS’ Success
TRACKILICIOUS thrives on humility, respect and community-driven development. “Managing a community requires immense effort and collaboration”, Eric explained. “While we work tirelessly to formulate what’s best for the community, we acknowledge that we won’t always get it right. What matters is our willingness to listen, learn from feedback, and continually improve”.
TRACKILICIOUS continues to push boundaries, offering its members unforgettable experiences both on the virtual track and in real life. Ready to join? There is no better time to dive in.
