Le Mans Ultimate fans rejoice. The time has finally come! The imminent update to Le Mans Ultimate on December the 10th brings with it private servers, league racing and community events onto RaceControl.gg, all powered by SimGrid.
Finally, those of you longing for online competition directly against your friends or drivers in your leagues can get yourself on the grid against them. No longer do you need to be limited to solo AI racing. No longer do you need to do events by yourself. No longer are you limited to just the daily racing system. Drivers and community hosts come together as one to create the ultimate spectacle that is the World Endurance Championship online.
With the update to Le Mans Ultimate and relaunch of RaceControl.gg on December 10th also comes the start of LMGT3 class in Le Mans Ultimate as well, swapping out the 2023 GTEs for the 2024 GT3 grid with the official teams, drivers, liveries and cars from the 2024 season for GT3s, Hypercars and LMP2.
New Hosted Servers
Ranked amongst the top requested features since Le Mans Ultimate launched, you will now be able to race in organised leagues or just with your friends with the launch of hosted servers thanks to SimGrids partnership with LMU, which now powers RaceControl.gg.
Players or community admin will be able to purchase server credits to run their very own race or league with scalable pricing depending on server size from as little as €0.38 per hour (note: local taxes may apply). Servers can be configured via the RaceControl.gg website, and either displayed in the public lobby list with or without password, or found simply by a 5 character code that will both find the server and enter the password for a user.
SimGrid Communties have the added visibility of having their events featured on SimGrid and RaceControl.gg, with automatic result uploading as an extra perk – something only available to SimGrid communities.
What This Means For Drivers
Sophisticated Championship Options
Drivers will now be able to enter a plethora of championships and events with plenty of options to choose from. You’ll be able to find multi-class races, single make races, one-off event combinations and complete replicas of the World Endurance Championships.
Find New Races With Ease
RaceControl.gg, powered by SimGrid, offers a unique opportunity for drivers to discover races effortlessly across multiple platforms. All events and championships created on RaceControl.gg are easily accessible there, while those organised by SimGrid communities will also appear on SimGrid itself. This seamless integration ensures that drivers can find LMU events and community organised races with convenience, whether they browse RaceControl.gg or SimGrid.
See Statistics and Rankings
SimGrid’s existing Grid Rating system—already utilised by communities to manage their own events—will also support Le Mans Ultimate on SimGrid. This offers you a new way to explore stats and rankings when participating in LMU events hosted on SimGrid. While you’ll continue to monitor your in-game LMU Driver Rating (DR) and Safety Rating (SR), SimGrid provides additional external stats and rankings for both individuals and hosts. These measurements reflect your achievements in LMU compared to your competition, and you can conveniently track them through your SimGrid profile.
Join New Communities
As a driver, finding the right community on SimGrid goes beyond simply joining a group, it’s about discovering races that align with your preferences, such as time zone, competitiveness, and the types of cars you enjoy racing. Being part of a community that fits your style not only makes it easier to integrate as a valuable member but also encourages consistency in your racing experience. By regularly competing with like minded drivers, you can build connections, improve your skills, and enhance your overall enjoyment of online multiplayer racing.
SimGrid trusted by 1100+ Communities
There are now over 1100+ communities using the SimGrid platform to host their races, events and championships making us the number 1 place for drivers to find races. What This Means For Community Hosts
Enhanced Visibility
Being a SimGrid community host is the most beneficial way to get visibility on Le Mans Ultimate thanks to RaceControl.gg being powered by SimGrid. This means when your events get created on SimGrid, they will also appear on RaceControl.gg, the official Le Mans Ultimate player portal. A win-win for communities.
Build a Strong Community For LMU
RaceControl.gg, powered by SimGrid, provides all the tools you need to build a strong and vibrant community around Le Mans Ultimate. With SimGrid’s flexible race management system, you can tailor your events to reflect the type of community you want to create, whether that’s casual or highly competitive racing. Communities are also discoverable on both platforms, giving your events greater visibility and encouraging drivers to engage with your Discord and other community spaces. This ensures that your races not only attract participants but also foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose among your drivers.
New Championship Creation
If you’re already a community host on SimGrid, you’ll be familiar with how simple it is to create championships on the platform. With Le Mans Ultimate now available, the process remains as straightforward as creating races and championships for ACC, iRacing, rF2, and other supported titles.
For those new to SimGrid, you’ll be pleased to know that setting up championships for LMU is easier than ever. Thanks to automated servers powered by RaceControl.gg, all you need to do is focus on the fun part, selecting your cars, tracks, and championship settings to get up and running in no time.
In Game Penalty Systems
Thanks to SimGrid you will be able to control in-game penalties from a dedicated area. These won’t be done from within the game of Le Mans Ultimate itself, but will be on a web platform connected to your races. At launch you will be able to sign in as your very own ‘race control’ and apply DQ, DT and SG penalties to drivers in the race.
Post Race Management
Once a race is complete however, SimGrids custom built event management tools make post race management of your races or championships as smooth as can be. You will easily be able to edit the results, add any further penalties, adjust race times and more to give 100% accuracy in your results without having to deal with those pesky google docs.
Automated Server Creation
Thanks to SimGrid you will easily be able to create and configure your servers ready for automatic launch whenever you wish for your event to take place. This means you can be prepared well ahead of time and have everything set up so you don’t have to worry. Anyone who is an ‘admin’ of your communities will also be able to access this function for smoother running of community events.
Automated Result Uploads
We think this particular feature needs highlighting further. Because it is a game changer for SimGrid hosts. With RaceControl servers being powered by SimGrid we have created automated result uploading. Say goodbye to JSON files, say goodbye to result uploading post race. Whenever a race is complete SimGrid automatically uploads the results to the event. Game Changer.
Discord Integration
As SimGrid operates with Discord in mind, you will be able to easily integrate your community discord with your races and events. This will make it easier for drivers to join your Discords to give you enhanced communication with everyone.
