Seasons for PC Arrives Today – Get on The Grid

Seasons_PC_Blog

As the classic saying goes, ask and you shall receive! You have been calling out for Seasons on PC since the first day of launch for Seasons on Console, and we are now delivering on your requests.

We are launching Seasons for PC with Quick Races only in mind, to get things rolling. This will be the case for several weeks to see if the concept works. If it is a success, Seasons on PC will expand, but the power is in your hands to make it a success.

Empowering The Community

We want to empower you as a racing community to get behind Seasons on PC so we can bring the same great championships and benefits to life that the console community have been experiencing since its inception.

There are thousands of you out there who want an alternative way to get your daily racing fix in. Hopefully this scratches that itch for you. The more of you that stress test this early on, the better experience you will get in the long term, and we will always listen to community feedback for ways to improve any of our systems or features that we provide to you.

Quick Races at Launch

We are launching with Quick Races and it will work slightly differently from Seasons on Console. For them, they have 3 different tracks each week of the Quick Race season, because they have two other championships to race in as well. For PC, however, you will have access to 19 different tracks on rotation during the week.

At launch, you will be able to race in unlimited Quick Races, meaning no Grid Passes will be required for you, the Grid Pass will remain as a console feature only for now.

The idea of Quick Races on PC is for you to have some fun whilst you wait for your communities to launch their own one-off events or league races, it’s not here to replace what your leagues already bring you.

Just like with Quick Races on Console, your Grid Ratings will play a crucial role in deciding the starting order. The higher your Grid Rating, the higher you will start up the grid, the lower your grid rating, the further back you will start on the grid. So be patient in these early stages of Quick Races, as we are sure there will be fast drivers with lower Grid Ratings, trying the system for the first time.

As we have said, Seasons for PC is here as a trial over several weeks, and it will all depend on the community’s participation if it is a success or not. The early signs say you want this, so let’s hope it translates into full grids and enjoyable racing for you

How To Access Seasons on PC

On the Seasons home page you will now see a toggle in the middle of the page for users to switch between Console and PC. When you do so you’ll see the next available Quick Race. You can enter via the ‘Grid Open’ button that will take you to a new Quick Race page. On this page you will be able to to view the next 5 available Quick Races you can join alongside the most current session availabe, with accompaying session details like race conditions and track.

Quick Races Schedule

All races will take place between the hours of 16:00 and 22:00 GMT. They will be every 30 minutes and the races themselves will have a 5 minute practice session followed by a 12 minute race, with a 1 hour sign up window for each race. Remember there are no qualifying sessions for these races, grid placement is all based on your Grid Ratings.
