Here at The SimGrid August will be a month of transition. Many exciting championships that accompanied us in the past few weeks are coming to an end. But with the great variety of events offered by our hosts, there will be no shortage of action in the foreseeable future. Let’s break down quickly what August has in store for the racing community – there may be more to come too…

Coach Dave 1000 Finale

The first big series coming to an end in August is the Coach Dave 1000. After four hard-fought rounds in four months YAS HEAT and Simware.Pro are separated by just 8 points coming into the final round in Monza

While Simware.Pro have the advantage of leading the standings, YAS HEAT has won the previous two rounds, including the infamous Silverstone 1000. On Saturday the 6th of August at 16 CEST the rival crews will fight it out for the title in a potential ‘winner takes it all’ race. With many other teams trying to find a place in the spotlight, it should be an entertaining one.

Coach Dave Time Attack Finale

From one extreme to another. If endurance racing is not your thing, we’ve got you covered. Following the success of the first two seasons, the Coach Dave Time Attack will be back in August for the third time! With two weeks of shootouts now behind us, the third and final stage will determine the final 11 drivers who will join the Finale on the 11th of August at 19 CEST.

The race venue for the final showdown will be made public only 24 hours before the event. The format is very simple: the fastest 10 drivers from each of the qualification weeks, plus three wild cards, have to overcome a series of knockout stages by giving all they have in a hotlap session and become the fastest of the 33 finalists.

Project Reborn Endurance Series Season 2

As always, this month’s calendar will be pretty busy thanks to the great competitions organised by our hosts. We have picked a selection of interesting championships starting with the Project Reborn Endurance Series Season 2. While cars will hit the track only in October, it is on the 14th of August that signups to this competition will open.

This GT3 endurance championship features races of variable lengths between 6 and 24 hours. The 12H of COTA and 6H of Nurburgring will precede an interesting double race in Spa-Francorchamps. The 12 hours round on the Belgian track will be anticipated by a 90-minute qualifying race. The 8H of Kyalami will then be followed by the season finale, the 24H of Watkins Glen.

SpeedForce Simracing Endurance World Cup

More endurance racing at The Sim Grid is brought by SpeedForce Simracing with their Endurance World Cup. The championship, which started in Kyalami, will host two events in the month of August. On the 6th, drivers and teams will visit the Nurburgring for a 6 hours race.

After fourteen days the Endurance World Cup will go overseas for the 4 Hours of America at COTA. The championship will then go back to Europe on the first weekend of September for the 4 Hours of Silverstone, the season finale.

HFG Americas Night Season 7

August will feature busy Friday evenings in the American timezone. The seventh edition of the HFG Americas Nights hosted by Half Fast Gaming has reached its halfway point. After the first two rounds, held at Indianapolis and Laguna Seca, there are two races left at Watkins Glen and at the Circuit of the Americas.
But there is more action coming at Half Fast Gaming. Aside from the previously mentioned championship races, HFG is hosting a monobrand 2.4 Hours of Watkins Glen. The car used will be the Camaro GT4. The event will take place on Sunday the 7th of August and is sure to be a whole load of unique fun!
