This Month at SimGrid – December 2021

November saw two of our most popular events edge ever closer to their climax, as we saw Rounds 3 and 4 of the infamous More Female Racers series, whilst Season 4 of the Endurance Cup headed to Monza for 6 hours of high-speed action. Although we couldn’t make it quite as good as we would have liked due to two race cancellations, November was full of action, and December is set to be even better.

More Female Racers – Rounds 5 and 6

More Female Racers S4 has been super competitive so far, as two giants of the series, GTWR R8G Female Racing and Griphax Engineering, go head to head in search of the championship crown. Despite breaking GTWR’s unbeaten streak two rounds ago, Griphax Engineering has their work cut out to close down the standings as we head to the final two races.

After two rounds at Imola and Silverstone in November, the championship is set to be decided in the coming month, as the teams head to Zolder on the 6th of December, followed by the season finale at a public voted track on the 20th of December. So, yes, you can have your own little impact on the season once the vote opens! Keep an eye out on our social media accounts so you can be informed as soon as it goes live.

The championship is completely undecided in all of the 4 classes, so make sure you don’t miss a moment of the last two rounds – both will be going green at 20:00 CET on their select dates.

Endurance Cup heads to Paul Ricard

The Endurance Cup season has been just as competitive as last, as the championship lies wide open after the first two races at Spa and at Monza. R8G eSports are currently sitting at the top of the standings after a consistent showing so far, but the likes of YAS HEAT and GTWR R8G Academy are hot on their heels – there’s still a long way to go, and December will bring us yet another round of action.

November was planned to host two rounds of Endurance Cup competition, however, we’ve seen some changes to the calendar in recent days. After the V1.8 update to Assetto Corsa Competizione, some teams were experiencing issues that caused game crashes, meaning it just wasn’t fair to try and host a race with the knowledge of such problems in such a tight championship. As a result, round 3 has been postponed and is now due to take place on the 18th of December, although still at Paul Ricard as originally planned. But, that only means the competition will continue to bubble over whilst the teams wait eagerly to get back on track.

SimGrid’s Black Friday Hangover

As part of our Black Friday deals at Coach Dave Academy, we planned to head to Bathurst on the 26th of November for 60 minutes of nighttime carnage. However, just the Endurance Cup, the Black Friday Festival had to be postponed due to game instability, but, with the issues fixed courtesy of some quick updates from Kunos Simulazioni, welcome SimGrid’s Black Friday Hangover!

Don’t worry though, the format is exactly how you remember it. 60 minutes. Mount Panorama. Pitch black racing. There really isn’t a better combination if you want pure thrills and spills, and we are just as excited as you are to get this one-off event going. This Friday we will be back on track, so join us live on our YouTube channel at 20:00 CET so you don’t miss any of the action!

Rain Meister

Driving in the wet is not for the faint-hearted, but it’s certainly for those seeking some fun! On Thursday the 16th of December, we are off to the Nurburgring for a second one-off event of the month, and in even more challenging conditions than at SimGrid’s Black Friday Hangover event.
The Nurburgring is one of the most famous circuits in all of motorsport, and we’ll be there for 60 minutes of absolute carnage. Why carnage though? Well, it’s not only going to be held completely in the dark, but it will also be in the midst of a thunderstorm. Expect heavy rain and a flooded track – those puddles are going to be deep! To add to the fun, you can’t pick rain specialists like the Bentley, Aston Martin or Lexus, it’s German cars only, and you can sign up right here, right now. 20:00 CET on the 16th, don’t miss it!
